The worldwide presentation of the recent DS 7 Crossback will take place at the imperative Geneva Motor Show, which will open its doors on the 7th of March. However, it is already possible to observe it in every detail, as we saw thanks to the limited edition of its launch, the DS 7 Crossback La Premiere.
The DS 7 Crossback is positioned as the top of the French company, next to the DS 5. It is the first big SUV of DS and will be the model to inaugurate the second generation of products of the brand. This new DS 7 Crossback captures the attention due to its exterior design, which distinguishes a front dominated by a cooling grill and multiple chrome details. Equally, its frontal gets protagonism due to the headlights, where we find a touch of elegance that is really charming.
The appearance of the front and rear LED lights to make them look like two beautiful stones that outline geometric figures, while the rear also emits a purple light at the time of unlocking the vehicle.
The director of design and style of the new DS 7 commented that the objective to be achieved with the new model is to be able to compete against its German competition.
DS 7 Crossback: Engine
The recent DS 7 Crossback will be initially distributed only with a range of 2 engines, incorporated into an 8-speed gearbox. It is known that it will be a gasoline engine with a power of 225 hp and another diesel BlueHDi of 180 hp.
For gasoline versions, you can choose a much more basic engine, such as the 1.2 PureTech 130 hp, which is associated with a 6-speed manual transmission. For the diesel versions two variants will be available: the 2.0 BlueHDi, with powers of 130 hp and 180 hp, also incorporated into the automatic transmission.
In the meantime, the hybrid version of the new SUV will be available with a power of 300 hp starting in spring 2019, combining a 200 kW petrol engine with two electric propellers (one for each axle) of 80 KW. This new hybrid all-wheel drive has a lithium-ion battery pack, which takes about four hours and 30 minutes to recharge using a standard plug.
DS 7 Crossback: Inside
The interior of the new DS 7 has 2 screens of twelve inches. The one located in the center of the dashboard is responsible for controlling the navigation system, in addition to the multimedia interface and the functions of MirrorScreen next to DS-Connect; the other allows the option to customize it and is directed to the digital technology of the instrument cluster. Likewise, in the middle of the dashboard is located the clock, which saves its configuration and rotates 180º when starting the DS 7.
DS 7 Crossback: Technology
According to information from DS in one of its releases, the first edition of the DS 7 Crossback La Premere will provide the DS Connected Pilot, which consists of a system that opens the way too much freer driving. It will also have the DS Night Vision, which provides enhanced visibility if you must drive at night and the DS Active Scan Suspension, which through a camera, has the particularity of anticipating the possible imperfections of the road.
The new DS 7 Crossback will be available from dealerships in 2018; however, it will be possible to get the special edition “La Premiere” online from March 7, only in France and Switzerland.
